Seasoned actor Asrani to headline a play called Welcome Zindagi

Veteran Bollywood actor Asrani will soon be seen in a play called Welcome Zindagi, produced by Sanjay Jha. The play centres on the lead character Ashutosh, a retiring government servant, and his family including Indu, his wife, Setu, his daughter and Aayush, his son. Being a miser and old-fashioned, Ashutosh never paid any attention to his family's needs, saying he would do so after retirement.

The comedy play will take you on a journey of fun, laughter and emotions. Speaking on Asrani's association with the play, Sanjay Jha says, "We are delighted to have him on board, he has an experience of 55 years in the industry and almost 350 films in his career. The amount of experience and dedication he has in this field is amazing. I always believe in one thing that a good actor is always capable of doing versatile stuff. Asraniji's subtle comedy sense can transfer into an intense scene at any moment. One of his signature lines in the play would be 'Hey Bhagavan Utha Le'. When I approached Asraniji, he asked for the script. And when I narrated the script to him, he immediately said yes to it."

A film surrounded by noise

Sudha Kongara is among the few Tamil directors whose films carry a distinct voice. With Parasakthi, that voice has had to compete with chaos. Long before release, the film was caught in disputes over its title, shifting cast announcements, ED searches, plagiarism claims and, finally, a list of changes demanded by the Central Board of Film Certification.

In all that, the film itself risked becoming secondary. Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa and Sreeleela in her Tamil debut, retells the 1965 anti-Hindi imposition agitation in Tamil Nadu. The core of the film unfolds over just 19 days , from January 24–25 to February 12, 1965.
