Sanya Malhotra: I have stopped making career plans

Newcomer Sanya Malhotra, who won millions of hearts with her sterling performance in the blockbuster biographical sports drama, Dangal, is currently busy with a number of her upcoming projects.

She has just finished two films, Junglee Pictures' Badhaai Ho opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and Photograph with versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Both films are starkly different from each other in terms of genre, storyline and theme. While Badhaai Ho is a quirky comedy, Photograph is a serious film.

After wrapping up Badhaai Ho and Photograph, Sanya is now gearing up to begin work on Vishal Bhardwaj’s next venture, Chhuriyaan. The young actress is quite excited about the fact that she has been receiving good opportunities ever since the release of Dangal. “I’m working with great directors and actors, and I’m getting to learn so much about the process of acting. I’m extremely grateful for these experiences,” says she.

The newcomer says that she doesn’t want to make career plans and restrict herself to only one kind of cinema. “I have stopped making career plans; they never seem to work out for me. So, I’m going with the flow, enjoying each day of being an actor. I don’t want to restrict myself and want to work in all genres of cinema. Perhaps I can do a romance or even a horror film soon,” she adds.

7 Bruce Willis thrillers ranked by Rotten Tomatoes score that aren’t 'Die Hard'

Highlights

  • Bruce Willis has several critically acclaimed thrillers beyond the Die Hard franchise
  • Looper currently holds the highest Rotten Tomatoes score among these picks at 93%
  • 12 Monkeys and The Sixth Sense also rank among his strongest-reviewed films
  • The list spans sci-fi thrillers, supernatural mysteries, neo-noir and action films

Bruce Willis will always be associated with John McClane, but Die Hard is hardly the only place where the actor made his mark on the thriller genre.

Across the 1990s and 2000s, Willis moved between time-travel mysteries, supernatural dramas, neo-noirs and action thrillers, often using the same understated intensity that made him such a recognisable screen presence. Rotten Tomatoes scores show that some of his most highly regarded work came when he stepped away from the role of the conventional action hero.
