Kiara Advani says Lust Stories made people realise that she can act

Kiara Advani kickstarted her Bollywood journey with 2014 release Fugly. The film didn’t do well at the box office and Kiara too went unnoticed. But then she grabbed everyone’s attention as Sakshi Dhoni in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in which she starred opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. After that Kiara starred in Abbas-Mustan’s Machine which turned out to be a flop at the box office.

However, it was last year, when Kiara became a household name thanks to Netflix’s Lust Stories. The actress played the lead role in Karan Johar’s segment opposite Vicky Kaushal. Kiara’s performance in Lust Stories was appreciated a lot and it became a turning point in her career. She received many offers and has some very interesting films in her kitty now.

Recently, when Kiara was asked how it has been after Lust Stories, the actress said, “Busy, working really hard. Finally, working on such interesting films and these opportunities I really value them. It feels like I am giving all these exams and waiting to get the results.”

When asked her that if she feels that after Lust Stories filmmakers have started looking at her as an actress who can give strong performances, Kiara said, “I feel Lust Stories gave me a role, an opportunity to do a strong performance oriented role and I feel it definitely made people realise that ‘hey she can act’. It was one of those roles that will always be special for me and it opened many doors for sure. A lot of people appreciated my work in that and called me. It was definitely a very important career change in my life.”

Kiara was last seen on the big screen in Kalank in which she had a cameo. Her next release is Kabir Singh which also stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. The film is slated to release on 21st June 2019. The actress also has some other interesting projects like Good News, Laxmmi Bomb, Shershaah and Indoo Ki Jawani.
