Kartik Aaryan & Kriti Sanon to do Luka Chuppi

Riding high on the success of his last release Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), actor Kartik Aryan has signed a romcom, titled Luka Chuppi. Gorgeous actress Kriti Sanon, who won millions of hearts with her endearing performance in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), has been roped in to play the female lead in the flick.

Talking about the storyline of the film, Luka Chuppi revolves around a handsome star reporter of a local TV channel and a strong headed girl from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. From Mathura, the story travels to Agra and Gwalior.

The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, who is also producing Kriti Sanon’s next Arjun Patiala. Revealing some more details about the lead characters of his film, Vijan says, “Kartik plays the star reporter of a local TV channel in Mathura. We had toyed with the title Mathura Live before settling for a game of hide-and-seek. While Kartik is the quintessential good boy every girl wants to take home to mamma, Kriti represents today’s youth who advocate gender equality and have their own ideology”.

Vijan has given the directorial responsibilities of Luka Chuppi to Laxman Utekar who cinematographed his 2017 blockbuster film Hindi Medium, starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar. With this movie, Utekar makes his directorial debut in Bollywood. He has previously helmed two Marathi movies which did good business at the cash counter.

Luka Chuppi starts rolling in August this year. It will release in March 2019.
