Kajol: I like my character of Eela, I identify with many of her things

Actress Kajol, who was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, says that she is a comeback queen. "I’ve had so many of these ‘comebacks’, I’m now like the ‘comeback queen’! I am like a bad penny, I just keep coming back," Kajol said to a leading Indian daily.

Kajol will be next seen in Eela which is an adaptation of a Gujarati play, Beta Kaagdo. The shooting of the film has begun. The film is being directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Ajay Devgn.

Speaking about Eela, Kajol said, "I liked the script honestly, liked the lines, everything. I like my character of Eela (a single mother), I identify with many of her things."

Talking about the film, Pradeep said to a leading Indian tabloid, "I was offered the script around four months ago. It took me a while to understand the Gujarati tone but eventually, I fell in love with this extremely emotional story which boasts of some really strong characters and there's a chance of people getting really close to them."

"I am getting involved in the dialogue and character-building as there are a few insights that I want to incorporate to make the film more endearing. This is not like Parineeta, where everything was detailed, this is more free-flowing, a character and music driven film," he added.

Meanwhile, Kajol will be getting her own wax statue at Singapore’s Madame Tussauds. On being asked about Ajay and their children’s reaction to the same, Kajol said to a leading Indian daily, "Being happy and proud is everyone’s general reaction. But I haven’t been really able to explain it to Yug (since he’s too small). I’ve just told him ‘There’s this thing of me in Singapore’. His only question was ‘That’s cool! Are we going to Singapore?"
