“I create fear in myself first,” Vikram Bhatt on helming horror flicks

If there is one filmmaker who has constantly tried to give a facelift to horror genre in Bollywood, it has to be none other than Vikram Bhatt. Over the years, Bhatt has directed a number of successful horror movies. He also has several horror franchises to his credit, including Raaz, Haunted and 1920.

The director, who is known for his talent to haunt and scare people with his horror movies, is presently busy promoting his upcoming horror flick Ghost. The movie features popular television actress Sanaya Irani and Shivam Bhaargava in principal roles.

On asking the filmmaker about his vision while making horror movies, he revealed that he waits till he is scared of the shot that he takes. “For a horror filmmaker, there is a different kind of approach that we take in order to be able to create fear in the viewers. For me, I work the other way around – I create fear in myself first. I have to be scared to okay a shot. A scene in which Sanaya had to come out petrified, we re-shot it till I was petrified myself! This method has worked for me in the past because if I can live it, so can the audiences. I hope Ghost will meet the expectations of the viewers”, says Vikram Bhatt.

Produced by Vashu Bhagnani under the banner of Pooja Entertainment, Ghost is scheduled for its theatrical release on 18th October, 2019. Recently, the makers dropped the trailer of the film, which received warm response from the audience. Everybody is now looking forward to watch the movie when it enters theatres on 18th October.
