Hera Pheri 3 put on the backburner yet again

Despite significant star power attached to it, Hera Pheri 3 is finding it extremely difficult to take off. The much-awaited comic caper has already faced a number of delays over the past few years and if latest reports are anything to go by, the movie has been put on the backburner yet again.

Yes, you heard that right! According to fresh reports, the third instalment of Hera Pheri (2000) has been pushed ahead once again. It was set to start rolling towards the end of the year.

Indra Kumar, who had come onboard to helm Hera Pheri 3, was quite psyched up about taking the franchise forward with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. However, date issues of the lead actors forced the director to focus on another venture, which might feature superstar Ajay Devgn as the male lead.

“Indra was set to take Hera Pheri 3 on floors by year-end. But the film has hit another roadblock as the dates of the cast members are apparently not working out. Since the comedy does not seem to be happening anytime soon, the director has set his sight on another story,” a source divulges.

Indra Kumar, known for his rib-tickling comedies like Ishq (1998), Masti (2004) and Grand Masti (2013), last helmed Total Dhamaal (2019). Starring Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh, the film emerged as one of the most successful films of 2019 so far.
