POPULAR actress Erica Fernandes has won admirers in a wide array of film and television projects. These include Aashi Kumari, Hafsa Ahmed and Izzah Mussaddiq from India, Pakistan and the USA. They run a fan club dedicated to the beautiful star. Eastern Eye caught up with them to find out more.

What made you set up the fan club?


Our fan club is called EJFIANS, which is basically a term to address all Erica lovers. Our love for Erica made us set up the club and to give updates about her to the fans and to unite them all using this platform.

Tell us more about your fan club.

This fan club serves as a medium to provide updates about Erica’s show, beauty blogging and we have edits of her.

What has been the most memorable moment?

Our fan club is about to reach its first anniversary. Being appreciated by fellow EJFIANS and also winning a few best fan club polls has been memorable for us.

What is the best thing about Erica Fernandes?

The best thing about Erica is her simplicity. She is a big star, but still so humble and down to earth. That is so rare in celebrities these days. She portrays herself as she is and is honest about everything. Also, her dedication to her work and multitasking abilities are fabulous.

What is your favourite work of Erica?

Erica’s work as Sonakshi Bose in the show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi has been our favourite. She has done splendid work in the show right from the beginning and has also proved her versatility as an actress.

Tell us an interesting fact about Erica.

Erica Fernandes is supremely talented. She’s a powerhouse of talent. There’s hardly anything that she can’t do. She can sing, dance, play guitar and piano, cook, sketch, paint and so much more. Her talents are in a class of their own.

What is your definition of a true fan?

A true fan is someone who will support and love their idol no matter what; be there with them through thick and thin and also respect them and their work.

Actress earns Worcester honour

VETERAN actress and former Miss India, Swaroop Sampat-Rawal (pictured above), has been award­ed a fellowship by the University of Worcester.

Sampat-Rawal, who was crowned Miss India in 1979, rose to fame with her role in the Indian sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. She later pursued a PhD in education at the University of Worcester, graduating in 2006. Her research focused on using drama to en­hance life skills in children with learning disabilities.
