Famous two-hero films in Bollywood

It has become a topic of debate that why two stars are not ready to work with each other. Rohit Shetty had to shelve his film, a remake of Ram Lakhan because two actors were not ready to share screen space. Akshay Kumar a few days ago had also spoken about why two stars are not starring in a film together.

However, now soon we are going to witness a two-hero film on the big screen. We are talking about Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War. So, before War hits the screens let’s look at the famous two-hero films in Bollywood…

Anand

Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s directorial Anand starred Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. It is one of the cult films of Bollywood and a movie in which both Khanna and Bachchan shined in their respective roles. And how can we forget the dialogue, ‘Babumoshai zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi…’

Sholay

In 1975 released Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer Sholay, one of the best films made in the history of Indian cinema. The characters played by Big B and Dharmendra, Jai and Viru, are one of the most famous characters of Bollywood. Big B and Dharmendra both were superstars in the 70s but they had no issue in sharing screen space with each other.

Deewar

Amitabh Bachchan was clearly one actor who had no qualms in doing a two-hero film. In 1975 also released Deewar which starred Shashi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie was a big hit and once again gave us an iconic dialogue to remember, ‘Big B: Aaj mere paas buildingey hai, property hai, bank balance hai, bungla hai, gaadi hai ... kya hai, kya hai tumhare pass?, Kapoor: Mere paas Maa hai…”

Ram Lakhan

Subhash Ghai’s Ram Lakhan released in 1989 and starred two actors who were big stars in the 80s and 90s. Well, we are talking about Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Both the actors gave a fantastic performance in the film and there was clearly no ego clash in those days.

Andaz Apna Apna

While there were two-hero films being made in the 70s and 80s, 90s was also not an exception. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, two of the biggest stars of Bollywood starred together in 1994 release Andaz Apna Apna. Though the film failed to make a mark at the box office at that time, it has been given a cult status.

Karan Arjun

While Salman shared screen space with Aamir in Andaz Apna Apna, in 1995 the actor starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Karan Arjun. It was one of the biggest hits of 1995. Salman and SRK later starred in one more two-hero film titled Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002), a delayed project that was an average grosser at the box office.

Main Khiladi Tu Anari

While Akshay Kumar is ready to do a two-hero film right now, in the 90s also he starred a few two-hero projects and one of them was Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Co-starring Saif Ali Khan, the action-comedy was loved by the audiences and the songs of the film are still famous.

Dhoom series

After the 90s the two-hero projects started dying. However, we had Dhoom series where Abhishek Bachchan shared screen space with actors like John Abraham (Dhoom) and Hrithik Roshan (Dhoom 2). We aren’t counting Dhoom 3 here as Aamir Khan is surely a bigger star than Junior Bachchan.

Dostana

Well, after Dhoom, John and Abhishek once again starred together in a two-hero film titled Dostana. We all know that Dostana is one of the best rom-coms made in Bollywood, and it brought the topic of homosexuality (though in a funny way) in the mainstream cinema.

Padmaavat

As we are talking about nowadays actors not doing two-hero projects, we surely have to keep Shahid and Ranveer away from the topic. Both the actors did Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and impressed one and all with their performances. SLB too balanced by giving both of them equal screen time.

Saif Ali Khan opens up on his idea of success as Bollywood’s work hour debate takes centre stage

While much of Bollywood still chases longer hours and larger deals, Saif Ali Khan is thinking about something far simpler: getting home in time to tuck his kids in.

At a recent media event in Dubai, the actor opened up about what success means to him today. It’s not about box office numbers or prestige projects. It’s about showing up for the small moments at home, especially with his young sons, Taimur and Jeh. “Coming back to find them asleep, that’s not what I want,” he admitted. “If I can catch even thirty minutes with them at the end of the day, that’s worth more than a full day on set.”

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke condemns Netanyahu and Hamas in statement on Gaza war

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has spoken out about the war in Gaza for the first time, criticising both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas. In a detailed Instagram post published on Friday, Yorke also addressed the emotional toll of being pressured to comment on the conflict, which he said had impacted his mental health.

Yorke, known for keeping a low profile on political issues, said he had remained silent until now out of respect for victims of the ongoing war. However, he acknowledged that his lack of public comment had led some to interpret his silence as complicity.

Ricky Gervais receives Walk of Fame star and jokes about Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby

Ricky Gervais now has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but it wouldn’t be a Ricky moment without a few jabs that made the room a bit tense. Known for pushing buttons with his jokes, the 63-year-old comedian didn’t hold back during his acceptance speech, which mixed dry humour with some edgy digs.

Looking around at the star-studded pavement, he jokingly pointed out some controversial names, including Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, and Fatty Arbuckle, all of whom have faced serious allegations. Taylor Swift Reclaims Ownership of First Six Albums

Taylor Swift finally regains full ownership of her first six albums after years-long battle

After years of fighting for control over her early music, Taylor Swift has bought back the master recordings of her first six albums. The deal marks the end of a bitter chapter in her career and gives her full ownership of every song she’s released since her teenage debut.

It all started in 2019 when Swift’s old label, Big Machine, sold her original recordings to music executive Scooter Braun. At the time, Swift called it her “worst-case scenario,” saying she wasn’t even given the chance to buy them herself. Instead, she was offered a deal where she’d “earn” back one old album for every new one she made. She declined. Braun later sold the masters to Shamrock Capital for around £222 million (₹1,848 crore), and Swift decided to take matters into her own hands.
