Birmingham city centre attack victim named

THE man killed following an attack in Birmingham city centre, has been named as the victim.

Amarpal Atkar, 33, was found seriously injured on Stephenson Street, just outside Birmingham New Street station, July 31. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries later.


Atkar's family in Oldbury "devastated and heartbroken" by his death.

A 34-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of Atkar's murder has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Det Insp Jim Mahon, from West Midlands Police, said detectives are investigating the murder and have urged witnesses to come forward.
