Ayesha Jhulka to make a comeback with Anil Sharma’s Genius

Renowned filmmaker Anil Sharma, who is known for helming blockbuster films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and The Hero, is leaving no stone unturned in making her son Utkarsh Sharma’s debut vehicle Genius a grand film.

The latest we hear that he has roped in 90s popular actress Ayesha Jhulka for his upcoming directorial. Yes, Jhulka, who is remembered for her films Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Bazaar will be next seen in Anil Sharma’s Genius.

Jhulka quit films a long ago. The last known film which she did was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s Umrao Jaan, which hit screens in 2006. She did appear in few films after that but all of them went completely unnoticed at the box office.

And now, after a long gap, the actress is set to act in Sharma’s Genius. She will play the role of a mother of the leading lady, Ishita Chauhan in the movie.

Speaking about her character in the film, the actress told a tabloid, "I was not really prepared to work again, but Anil Ji was really insistent. My character is a classy, elegant and an independent woman who is also a liberal mother and has a friendly relationship with her daughter. It's not the typical, conventional mother, which is what made me say 'yes' to it."

Genius is slated to release next year.
