Anushka Sharma becomes first Indian to get a talking statue at Madame Tussauds

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is all set to become the first Indian to get an interactive figurine at Madame Tussauds Singapore.

With this, Sharma joins a long list of global icons such as Oprah Winfrey, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton.

“Yes, it’s true that the wax museum is set to unveil an interactive statue of Anushka," an insider told Hindustan Times. "Madame Tussauds is extremely selective when it comes to zeroing in on the personalities that gets a unique interactive feature. Thanks to the special figurine, she joins the list of illustrious global icons such as Oprah Winfrey, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton who also have their interactive sets at the Singapore museum."

Explaining the details of Sharma's figurine, sources told the publication that the actress' statue will be holding a phone. “Guests can take selfies with her statue and she will be heard saying warm greetings if one picks up the phone,” informed the insider.

Last month, Sharma's husband Virat Kohli's wax statue was unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in New Delhi.

Kohli joins other sporting legends such as David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Kapil Dev and Usain Bolt, whose statues are already in the museum.

"I sincerely appreciate the efforts and incredible work undergone in making my figure. Thanks to Madame Tussauds for choosing me for this lifetime experience. I am grateful to my fans for their love and support," Virat Kohli said in a statement issued by Madame Tussauds.

"This experience is going to be stored in the fond memories of my life...now waiting to see the fan reactions," Kohli said.
