Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar are perhaps the busiest filmmaker and actor respectively in Bollywood today because by the time their last film wraps up its run at the box office they announce their new projects. But this time around, both the heavyweights of Hindi cinema have teamed up together to announce their mega collaboration called Kesari.
Yes, Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar's much-awaited collaboration based on the famous historical Battle of Saragarhi has been titled Kesari. "Extremely excited to see this exceptional and brave story unfold!!!." Karan tweeted with a picture divulging details about the historical movie.
"Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar proudly present Kesari based on one of the bravest battles fought in India 'The Battle of Saragarhi.' Directed by Anurag Singh and starring Akshay Kumar. Releasing Holi 2019," read a post shared by Dharma Productions' official Twitter handle.
Earlier, Salman Khan was also onboard as a co-producer of the film but later the superstar decided to bow out of the movie as, reportedly, his close friend, Ajay Devgn was also making a film on the same subject.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has just wrapped up the Patiala shooting schedule of his upcoming sports biopic, Gold. Besides Gold, the actor currently has films like Padman, 2.0 and Mogul in his hands.
