Actors we would love to see in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra

Yesterday, on the auspicious day of Diwali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his movie Baiju Bawra which will hit the screens on Diwali 2021. While the film has been announced, the makers are yet to reveal the name of the star cast. There are reports of SLB planning to rope in Ajay Devgn for the film, but nothing has been officially announced yet.

Baiju Bawra is a story of a singer in the Mughal era who wants to take revenge for his father’s death from Tansen. Well, we decided to list down actors who would fit the bill to play Baiju and his love interest in the film…

Ranveer Singh

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh together have given three hits, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. We won’t be wrong if we say that Ranveer’s career’s best performances have been in SLB’s movies. We won’t be surprised if the filmmaker ropes in Ranveer to play Baiju.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir made his Bollywood debut with SLB in Saawariya (2007). After Saawariya, the filmmaker and the actor have not yet teamed up again. Baiju Bawra looks like a perfect film for them to once again collaborate with each other.

Vicky Kaushal

A few years ago, there were reports that Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Padmaavat as Maharawal Ratan Singh, but later Shahid Kapoor was roped in for the movie. Well, it will surely be interesting to see Vicky in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Apart from being a fantastic actor, Ayushmann Khurrana is also a very good singer. Baiju was also a singer and SLB’s film is going to be a musical-saga. If SLB ropes in Ayushmann, it will clearly be perfect casting.

Deepika Padukone

While Baiju Bawra is more about the guy, we are sure SLB won’t make the film without a strong female character. Well, Deepika has worked with SLB earlier thrice and just like Ranveer, even the actress’ career’s best performances have been in SLB’s movies. Also, Deepika has been the favourite of SLB, so she might be the frontrunner to get the female lead’s role.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai was simply outstanding in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The actress is quite close to the filmmaker and she has stated a lot of times that she is in talks with SLB for a movie. We won’t be surprised if the film turns out to be Baiju Bawra.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, both the films were supposed to star Kareena Kapoor Khan. But things didn’t work out and Deepika Padukone did the films. Kareena even joked once that she and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are star-crossed lovers as they don’t get to work with each other. But well, roping in Kareena for Baiju Bawra will surely be a casting coup.

Producer Namit Malhotra reveals how AI will make Ramayana resonate globally with native-language realism

Ranbir's 'Ramayana' will go global using AI, says producer Namit Malhotra

Producer Namit Malhotra is betting big on Ramayana, not just as a film for Indian audiences, but as a story that can speak to viewers across the world. At the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, Malhotra shared how the upcoming mythological drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is being developed with a global ambition, bringing together high-end tech with cultural roots.

He explained that the team isn’t just dubbing the film into other languages. Instead, they’re using real-time AI to match lip movements to multiple languages, so when audiences watch it in English, Spanish, or Japanese, it looks like the actors are actually speaking those tongues. The idea is to avoid the usual detachment of subtitles or awkward dubbing, and instead make the film feel native to each region.

Instagram blocks profiles of Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in India amid rising tensions

The Instagram profiles of Pakistani celebrities like Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are no longer accessible in India. This development comes just weeks before Fawad’s planned Bollywood return with Abir Gulaal and follows a series of social media restrictions tied to the worsening India–Pakistan relationship.

When Indian fans try to view the artists' Instagram pages, they’re met with a message: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content." No official clarification has come from either the Indian government or Meta, but the timing is significant. The move comes days after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region killed 26 people, most of them tourists. It was one of the deadliest attacks since the 2008 Mumbai carnage.
