5 tricks to look slim on photos

  1. The way you stand

Don’t make a mistake of standing straight in front of the camera while being clicked. Whatever your body type is, you will always look fuller if you do so. Instead, stand a little tilted, sideways to be precise. Place your hand on your hips and tilt your torso slightly backward for a leaner frame. Paying attention to your posture when taking pictures can make the world of a difference. Hunched shoulders and slumped spines will not elongate your figure.

2. Hold your head forward

To avoid a double chin, tilt your head forward just a tad. Stick your chin out a  bit and think of leading with your forehead. It brings the head forward a little bit but slims under the jawline and the neck. Put your tongue on the roof of your mouth while smiling.

3. Cross your legs at the ankle

Try to cross your legs at the ankles instead of the knees. By crossing your legs at the ankle instead of the knee, you’ll never expose too much thigh and will look leaner. For defined legs, bend your knees slightly, wear heels, or tighten your quadriceps.

4. Turn your body

If you’re taking a group picture, try and stand in the middle and slightly turn your body toward the person next to you for your slimmest angle. A straight-on body shot shows you at your widest, but if you stand at a slight angle, you’ll look slimmer. Slightly turn your body sideways (toward the camera) planting one foot in front of the other.

5. Stick to the edge

If you’re sitting down in a photo, angle your body again, and stick to the edge of the chair. Sitting back could hunch your posture. Plus, sitting farther back leaves legs closer to the camera, making them appear bigger in the shot.
