If latest reports are anything to go by, the uber cool Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh might star in the sequel to Akshay Kumar's blockbuster film, Singh Is Kinng (2008). The sequel has now been titled, Sher Singh.
But this can happen only when filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who produced Singh Is Kinng, gives up the rights of the title to producer Shailendra Singh who claims to be the creator of the title.
Talking to a daily, Shailendra Singh said, "I created the franchise - the concept of the movie and the title was owned by me. I gifted it to Akshay, who, in turn, gave it to Vipul Shah. They have even thanked me for the title in the credit roll. I have been begging Vipul to return it to me, but he hasn't relented. Yesterday, I sent him a text saying, 'It's been more than nine years and it's obvious that you are not making Singh Is Kinng 2. So why not give the title back gracefully? Be a gentleman!"
The producer also added that since Vipul Shah is not ready to cooperate with him, he has now registered a new title for the film. "I don't want to fight any longer."
Shailendra Singh is now trying to sign Ranveer Singh who has a number of big projects in his hands right now. He said, "The film will be a heist drama. As soon as the script is ready, we' will give him (Ranveer Singh) a narration."
Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati, also starring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The film is set to release on 1st December.
