South actress Vedhika to pair up with Emraan Hashmi

Popular South Indian actress, Vedhika Kumar, who appears in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam movies, has been roped in to play a pivotal part in Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph’s Hindi film debut, tentatively titled The Body.

The film is said to be the official remake of Spanish crime thriller drama, The Body. Vedhika is happy that she waited for the right film to come her way to enter Bollywood. “I’m so glad I waited for the right project to come my way. I’m excited and thankful,” she said.

Director Jeethu Joseph confirms that Vedhika has been cast to play the female lead in the movie. “The character is of a young college-going girl with some innocence about her. She fits the role beautifully. Her pairing with Emraan will be fresh and one to watch out for,” Jeethu adds.

Apart from Emraan Hashmi and Vedhika Kumar, the film also stars seasoned actor Rishi Kapoor and Kaalakaandi (2018) fame Sobhita Dhulipala. The first schedule of the film is being shot in Mumbai. The team will soon head off to Mauritius to commence the second shooting schedule.

The film might enter cinemas at the end of 2018.
