Shah Rukh Khan & Rajkumar Hirani to join forces for the first time?

Bollywood has a long list of successful actors and directors who have never worked together. The audience wants to see them collaborating for a movie, but the unavailability of dates and other such issues keep them away from casting their spell at cinegoers. One such actor-director duo is of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani.

But if the latest reports are anything to go by, the acclaimed filmmaker and megastar may join hands very soon for their first movie together.

If you follow Bollywood, you know that Hirani has always been an admirer of SRK and his craft. He even wanted to begin his directorial career with him and had offered the actor Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, but the superstar could not take up the project due to reasons more than one.

But this time around, it seems certain that the two will come together for a movie. Though no official announcement has been made by anyone related to the project, reports claim that the two are amidst finalizing a film together.

According to insiders, Hirani has an amazing concept for a film, which he has narrated to SRK who has liked it a lot and the project will be officially announced in a week or two.

We just wish that all the reports turn out to be true and we get to see two powerhouses of talent coming together for the first time.

Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani is currently busy with the shooting of Sanjay Dutt biopic with Ranbir Singh. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, has started his untitled film with Anand L Rai, also featuring Katrina Kaif.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
