Pakistan administered 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines

PAKISTAN aims to vaccinate 70 million people by the end of 2021, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) chief, Asad Umar, said.

The government on Wednesday (9) achieved the target of administering 10 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Umar said the vaccination programme proved effective during the third wave of the pandemic.

"The more quickly we get ourselves vaccinated, the faster we will be able to rid ourselves of this menace," he said.

The NCOC chief said Pakistan was administering an estimated 300,000 doses daily against the coronavirus, and added that more than 300,000 people were registering to receive the jab on a daily basis.

"Our target is to vaccinate 70 million people by the end of this year," he added.

“The threat of Covid-19 is still not over," the minister warned. "There are still about 3,000 people in critical care because of Covid-19. We have to be very careful as there are businesses still being affected by it.”
