Nurses in Sri Lanka to protest against cabinet

THE government nursing officers association in Sri Lanka will launch an Island-wide protest campaign on Thursday (8) against the cabinet for ignoring their demands.

The cabinet had postponed considering the two cabinet papers on promotions and staff status of nurses.

“The responsibility for the burden caused to the people should lie with the relevant authorities who failed to mete out their pledges,” he added.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa took steps to provide immediate solutions to five out of seven demands made by the public services united nurses union on July 02, the Daily Mirror report said.
