Mallya extradition trial hearing inconclusive

Vijay Mallya on Tuesday (8) lost a major case after a UK court ruled in favour of Indian banks seeking to collect more than $1.55 billion from him.

Embattled liquor baron Vijay Mallya, wanted in India on charges of fraud and money laundering allegedly amounting to around £1 billion, on Thursday (11) appeared in court in London for his extradition trial but the hearing was inconclusive as the defence is yet to complete its arguments. The 62-year-old was back in the dock at Westminster Magistrates’ Court as his defence team sought to argue against the admissibility of much of the evidence presented by the Indian government.
