Katrina Kaif to headline a film by Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai?

Katrina Kaif, who was last seen in Salman Khan’s blockbuster hit Bharat (2019), has a new film in her pocket. If reports are to be believed, the actress has been roped in to headline Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai’s next production venture. Kaif last worked with the two on Zero (2018).

Though nothing much is known about the project at the moment, some industry insiders reveal that it will be an official remake of a Korean film called Miss and Mrs. Cops (2019). Kaif will be playing the role of a cop along with another actress. Vidya Balan, who impressed everyone with her performance in Mission Mangal (2019), might come onboard to play the parallel lead in the film.

“SRK and Rai will be producing the film together and Katrina is slated to play the lead in the crime comedy movie. Korean films are an easy bet to derive inspiration from, because the culture is similar and they have some really interesting stories. We already have Katrina’s bestie Salman Khan working in the Hindi remake of another Korean film The Outlaws (2017). Katrina has been asked to play Miss Cop while Vidya (Balan) will be Mrs. Cop. SRK has been watching a lot of Korean films recommended to him by his kids, and he decided on this one to produce,” a source told a publication.

Kaif is currently shooting for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s next Sooryavanshi. The film reunites the actress with superstar Akshay Kumar after a long gap of nine years. The two actors last collaborated on Farah Khan’s heist film Tees Maar Khan in the year 2010. Produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions, Sooryavanshi is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 27th March, 2020.
