1980 release The Burning Train starred Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Parveen Babi, and Neetu Singh. The film was directed by Ravi Chopra and it has got the status of a cult film.
Now, after 40 years of the film’s release, a remake has been announced. The remake will be produced by Jackky Bhagnani and Juno Chopra. The former took to Instagram to announce the film. He posted, “Delighted to announce the remake of #TheBurningTrain in association with my dear friend @junochopra. A classic by Ravi Chopra sir. Hope we do justice to the magic that he created years ago. #vashubhagnani @deepshikhadeshmukh @pooja_ent #BRFilms.”
While talking about the remake, Jackky told a tabloid, “It’s classic Bollywood and I’m thrilled to be working with my friend Juno to recreate the magic that Ravi Chopra sir had 40 years ago. It has its heart at the right place and we are all set to give it our all.”
“We will be finalising the cast soon. The modern adaptation will be set in a train itself and will have a new twist,” he added.
Well, the 1980 release starred all the A-list actors and actresses of that time. It will be interesting to see if the makers will be able to cast A-listers of the current generation in the remake or not.
