Here’s everything you need to know about Saif Ali Khan’s Tandav for Amazon Prime

After months of speculations and countless stories, it has been finally confirmed that Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar are teaming up for an Amazon Prime Video original titled Tandav. While Khan entered the digital space with Netflix’s Sacred Games, which streamed its second season in August, Zafar will mark his digital debut with Tandav.

Set on a massive scale, the political series will start rolling towards the end of the year. Saif Ali Khan will play the role of a politician to aspires to become a Prime Minister. Sharing more details on the storyline of Tandav, Khan told a publication, “It is a show based on politics and is set on a massive scale. I don’t want to use American examples, but it is along the lines of House of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them.”

Talking about her character in the series, the actor said, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the Prime Minister.”

Other than Saif Ali Khan, Tandav also features talented actors like Purab Kohli and Kriti Kamra in principal roles. According to reports, the makers are planning to premiere the digital series in 2020.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is looking forward to the release of his much-awaited movie Laal Kaptaan. Produced by Aanand L Rai and directed by Navdeep Singh, the action drama film also features Zoya Hussain, Manav Vij and Deepak Dobariyal in important roles. Laal Kaptaan is scheduled to enter cinemas on 18th October, 2019.
