Actress Disha Patani, who is currently shooting for her forthcoming film Baaghi 2 with her rumoured boyfriend Tiger Shroff, is just two films old in Bollywood, but she is being considered for one plum project after the other.
Patani began her acting career in Bollywood with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and then starred in an Indo-Chino project called Kung Fu Yoga. Both of her films did good business at the ticket window and suddenly she started arresting the attention of many filmmakers not just in Bollywood but down south also.
She has just started shooting for her third film Baaghi 2 and, meanwhile, has also been roped in to play the title role in the upcoming Tamil period film, Sanghamitra. To be written and directed by renowned Indian filmmaker Sundar C, the historical film was announced at Cannes Film Festival 2017 with Shruti Haasan as the female lead.
But Shruti bowed out of the mega-budgeted project for reasons unknown and now her loss has turned out to be Disha Patani's gain. Disha will play a warrior princess in the film set in the 8th century AD.
Reportedly, Sanghamitra will be made on the lines of S.S Rajamouli's epic films, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. Also featuring Jayam Ravi and Arya, the movie will release in Hindi and Telugu as well.
