Britain’s Raducanu Is Forced to Withdraw from Kremlin Cup: A Latest in Tennis

By: Admin Super

The world of tennis is in a furore with back to back tournaments taking place in the Indian Wells, Kremlin Cup and so on. With the Spaniard Rafael Nadal not competing in most tournaments owing to a foot injury that has cut short his entire tennis season in 2021, the world of tennis is looking forward to new stars and new pairings that might as well take the sweetest cake of all, since Rafa Nadal is out of the picture to a great extent. He claims that he needs to rest the entire year probably since the strain to his left leg would exacerbate his problems and may cause him to lose out on many more years of the game in the future. He wants to come back completely fit and fine and then take on the world of tennis by storm again!

On the other hand, in the women’s section, the Briton Emma Raducanu, aged just 18 years of age, was all set to give her very best to win the Kremlin Cup this year in 2021. This young tennis player lost in straight tennis sets at Indian Wells last week to the super talented Aliaksandra Sasnovich from Belarus. All of you tennis enthusiasts must remember Emma Raducanu from the US Open at Flushing Meadows where she won the title. This loss is her first since winning the US Open title.

But, instead of carrying on to the next round of the Kremlin Cup which will be held in Moscow, Emma Raducanu has surprisingly pulled out of the tournament completely. No conclusive reason has been given to the media yet for this strange decision. It is however hinted that Emma Raducanu has been having some personal issues to deal with and that she has not been at her hundred percent, but she has also stated that this losing experience might not be a feel good emotion right now, but it will be a holistic experience for her that she feels will soon turn her tennis career around for the greater good.

The World Number 22 also claimed that her disappointment at having failed to carry on a great winning match with Sasnovich was also something that she would like to cut herself some slack for.

Emma Raducanu has several tennis tournaments lined up next, including ones in Romania and Austria next.

In the men’s tennis section, there has been a great loss for Indian tennis veteran Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner in the Men’s Doubles called Denis Shapovalov in the quarterfinals at BNP Paribas Open. The tennis match was not a simple or even fairly easy one, completely tightly contested but finally handed a 4-6 4-6 loss by the Russian Doubles pairing of Andrey Rublev and Aslan Karatsev late on Thursday night.

The world of tennis is open to all, and easily available to watch. So, go ahead and cheer for your favourites because the tennis tournament season has just begun and with a bang!
