Abhishek Bachchan starts shooting for Bob Biswas

Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani starring Vidya Balan in the lead role is clearly one of the best thrillers made in Bollywood. The movie had a character named Bob Biswas who used to work in a life assurance agency, but was actually a contract killer. Saswata Chatterjee was simply amazing as Bob Biswas in the film.

Now, a spin-off based on Bob Biswas’ character is being made starring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. The actor took to Instagram to inform everyone that he has kickstarted the shooting of the film today. He posted, "Lights.?Camera. ? Nomoshkar! ?? Shoot day one. #BobBiswas here we go!! @chitrangda @_diyagram @iamsrk Produced by @gaurikhan #SujoyGhosh @_gauravverma @RedChilliesEnt #BoundScript."

The movie is produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Sujoy Ghosh, and it is being directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh. The film also stars Chitrangda Singh in the lead role. Well, it will surely be interesting to watch Abhishek as Bob Biswas in the film.

The picture that Abhishek has shared on Instagram gives a very small glimpse of his look. We wonder if Abhishek will gain weight as well to look like Bob Biswas.

Apart from Bob Biswas, the actor has films like Ludo and The Big Bull in his kitty. He was also supposed to star in Bunty Aur Babli 2, but due to date issues, he couldn’t do the film and later Saif Ali Khan replaced him in the sequel.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council rejects community bid to protect Shepherd's Bush Market

Ben Lynch

Highlights

  • Hammersmith and Fulham Council have refused to list the 110-year-old market as an asset of community value.
  • The market serves diverse communities with African, Caribbean, and Asian goods including traditional foods and hijabs.
  • Major redevelopment plans approved in 2023 will see construction begin in early 2026.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council has rejected a community group's application to protect Shepherd's Bush Market as an asset of community value (ACV), dealing a blow to efforts to preserve the historic multicultural marketplace.

Friends of Shepherd's Bush Market applied for ACV status earlier this year, hoping to safeguard the site's future amid concerns over approved redevelopment plans by developer Yoo Capital. The group sought community ownership of the market, which has served diverse communities since opening in 1914.

The council cited three reasons for refusal, primarily stating the application "fails to demonstrate why the markets are considered to be 'social interests' and not standard retail services." Officials also noted the inclusion of operational land belonging to Transport for London and discrepancies in the application documents.
