Shilpa Shetty kickstarts the shooting of Nikamma

A few days ago, it was announced that Shilpa Shetty is all set for her big-screen comeback with Sabbir Khan’s Nikamma. The actress was last seen on the big screen in 2007 release Apne and now after 13 years, she will be seen on the silver screen.

Shilpa kickstarted the shooting of the film today and took to Instagram to inform her fans about it. She posted, “Back on the sets... with #Nikamma in the role of Avni. ??? Can’t tell you HOW much I missed this? We are going to have so much fun @abhimanyud , love you @sabbir24x7 even when you are trying to cover your stomach with the clap.?Wah !! Really Clapworthy ? ?? #firstday ##nikamma #backtowork #actor #actormode #work #love #gratitude #fun #team #sonypicturesindia.”


Nikamma also stars Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia. Shilpa plays a character named Avni in the film. While announcing her comeback Shilpa had earlier posted on Instagram, “Yes, it’s true! My sabbatical of 13 long years comes to an end. I am so excited to announce that the film you will see me next in is Nikamma, directed by Sabbir Khan featuring these amazing and talented actors Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Sethia. Need all your blessings and thank you for all the love always.”

While talking about her character, Shilpa had earlier stated that it is something she has not done before. The actress had told a daily, “It feels great. I am ready to take the plunge again. It’s a refreshing and unique project, and I am looking forward to working with Sabbir. I loved my role as it’s something that I have never attempted before. I can’t wait for the audience to see me in a new avatar.”

The release date of Nikamma is yet to be announced, but it looks like the film will have a release next year.

Legendary Asha Bhosle, who recorded over 12,000 songs, dies at 92

VETERAN Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle died in Mumbai on Sunday at the age of 92, her family said.

She died at Breach Candy Hospital where she had been admitted with complaints of "extreme exhaustion" and a chest infection. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle said she was admitted on Saturday evening due to a chest infection and exhaustion.
