Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer: Vidya Balan nails it as Shakuntala Devi in the poster

Vidya Balan impressed one and all with her performance in this year’s release Mission Mangal. The film turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office and recently it entered the 200 crore club. Vidya will next be seen on the big screen in the film titled Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer which is a biopic on the writer and mental calculator, Shakuntala Devi.

Vidya took to Instagram to share the motion poster of the film. She posted, “She was extraordinary, in every sense of the word! Know the story of the child prodigy & the human computer, #ShakuntalaDevi @sonypicsprodns @abundantiaent @directormenon @ivikramix @sneharajani_"

Vidya Balan is looking like a spitting image of Shakuntala Devi in the poster and we are sure the actress will easily carry the role. Interestingly, Vidya played a scientist in Mission Mangal and now, she is all set to play a mathematician.

Apart from being famous for difficult calculations, Shakuntala Devi is also known for her writings. Her first book The World of Homosexuals is said to be one of the first studies of homosexuality in India.

The movie will be directed by Anu Menon, who had earlier helmed films like London Paris New York and Waiting. While talking about Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer, Menon said, “I have always been fascinated by Shakuntala Devi and truly felt that hers is an incredible story that had to be told. She was an extraordinary woman, who lived ahead of her times and on her own terms, unapologetically. From Vidya Balan to the rest of the cast and crew, and my producers – Vikram and Sony Pictures Networks Productions, I am so glad that all the elements have come together for us to put our best foot forward. I’m delighted that everyone will finally get to witness it on the big screen.”

The movie will hit the screens in Summer 2020 and we are already excited about it.
