As we all know that Abhishek Bachchan was launched in Bollywood by noted filmmaker JP Dutta who gave him his first break in his 2000 directorial Refugee which also marked the debut of Kareena Kapoor Khan.
So, when Dutt decided to make a comeback to films after a long hiatus of almost a decade, he could not think of any other actor than Abhishek Bachchan to play one of the leads in his upcoming film, Paltan.
Also starring a bunch of other actors like Suniel Shetty, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Rana Daggubati, Pulkit Samrat, Siddhanth Kapoor, Jimmy Shergill and Gurmeet Choudhary, Paltan went on floors in Ladakh a couple of days back.
But surprisingly, Abhishek Bachchan, who was cast to play an important role in the film, backed out 24 hours before the movie started rolling in Ladakh, leaving JP Dutt and his team in the lurch.
Nidhi Dutta, the daughter of the filmmaker, says, "Abhishek Bachchan is no longer part of Paltan for personal reasons best known to him. It has come as a shock to us as this happened less than 24 hours before our unit left to shoot in Ladakh."
She further adds, "But we also believe that especially in the movies we make, it’s the soldiers sitting up there that choose who will play them and recreate their lives on screen. Nevertheless, we wish him (Abhishek Bachchan) luck with his future endeavours. We are already in Ladakh filming with our entire cast and crew and Army personnel. We will announce the actor who is replacing Abhishek in the film soon."
