Aamir Khan was apprehensive about playing quirky Shakti Kumar!

Aamir Khan is known to deliver his hundred percent when it comes to portraying a character on the silver screen. Be it a small cameo or a full-fledged role, the actor puts in his all to make it look more believable and convincing.

The actor, who has played an array of characters in his long movie career, will treat his audience with a completely new avatar in his forthcoming film Secret Superstar.

Aamir will be seen in the role of music composer Shakti Kumar. It was director Advait Chandan who visualized the megastar in the quirky and colourful character of music director in Secret Superstar.

But convincing the star was not easy for the director as he was apprehensive about playing such a character on screen. It was Chandan's conviction which compelled the superstar to go through a series of screen tests in order to convince himself and wife Kiran Rao before taking the plunge.

While talking about how he came onboard, Aamir Khan shared, "When I heard the script from Advait I liked it a lot, then one day he said why don't you act Shakti Kumar's part. I said I can't imagine myself doing that role. Even Kiran said the same. I said I'll do a screen test first if I do well in the screen test then I can do the role".

Advait Chandan, who is debuting as a director with the film, also shared, "Can you believe, I did a screen test of Aamir Khan for my first film".

While sharing his experience Aamir Khan added, "During the screen test, I felt I was enjoying. It is an unusual character for me, very different from my actual self. So it was a challenge for me as an actor, to play a character and make people believe it's genuine. Watch the film to decide how do you like it".

Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Secret Superstar releases on 18th October 2017.
