Rani Mukerji: I feel glad that we released the first look of Mardaani 2 during Navratri, Durga Puja

The makers of Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 2 released the teaser of the film at the starting of the Navratri festival. The teaser has received a great response and Rani is glad that it came out during Navratri and Durga Puja festival.

The actress, who attended Durga Puja recently, told the reporters, “I feel glad that we released the first look of Mardaani 2 during Navratri, Durga Puja. No one can be happier than me because, during this festival, we worship Maa Durga. And there is an avatar of Maa Durga in Mardaani 2, so I feel happy that the first glimpse of the film came out during the Durga Puja festival.”

While talking about the festival of Durga Puja, Rani told a daily, “For me, Durga pujo always brings back fond childhood memories. It is an important time for us, as this is one festival where Bengalis go all out and celebrate. We hang out with our families, eat our hearts out and soak in our culture. If you look beyond the festivities, in most pandals, you can see the kind of amazing artwork and creativity that go into it. Even in the cultural events that happen on all days of pujo, we come together to perform dance dramas and plays. It’s a great cultural exchange for Bengalis, especially for probashi Bengalis like us (who live outside of West Bengal). I have been a part of the festivities since childhood, and luckily, we always had our family pujo (North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja), so it was easier for our parents to make us feel closer to our tradition and culture.”

Rani was last seen on the big screen in 2018 release Hichki which was a super hit at the box office. Directed by Gopi Puthran, Mardaani 2 will hit the screens on 13th December 2019.
