Parineeti Chopra paired opposite Akshay Kumar in Battle Of Saragarhi!

Actress Parineeti Chopra, who was last seen in Yash Raj Films' Meri Pyaari Bindu opposite Ayushmann Khurrana, has signed her first movie with superstar Akshay Kumar. The actress will play Kumar's wife in an upcoming film, titled Battle Of Saragarhi.

“Parineeti plays a strong character and has really liked the script. The makers have started prep. Huge sets of the Saragarhi and Gulistan forts, as well as a village, will be erected in Wai, a town in Satara district,” a source reveals.

Parineeti started her career opposite debutant Arjun Kapoor in the movie Ishaqzaade. Since then, she has been paired mostly with actors of her age. But now, she is being roped in with well-established senior actors of the industry, like Ajay Devgn in Golmaal Again and now Akshay Kumar in Battle Of Saragarhi.

For the uninitiated, Battle Of Saragarhi is a period drama wherein Akshay plays the role of Havildar Ishar Singh. To be helmed by Anurag Singh, the historical film will be co-produced by Karan Johar and Salman Khan. It is expected to start rolling in the month January.

Meanwhile, Akshay has just completed the shooting for his upcoming film, Padman, directed by R Balki. His next film, Gold, by Reema Kagti, has also gone on floors. Besides these films, the superstar has several big projects in his hands like 2.0 and Mogul.

On the other hand, Parineeti is waiting for her Diwali release, Golmaal Again. She will then move on to shoot Yash Raj Films' Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor.
