Sonakshi Sinha’s forthcoming film Khandaani Shafakhana has been postponed to August. Earlier scheduled to roll into theatres on 26th July, the sex-clinic comedy will now hit the silver screen on 2nd August, a week later than planned. Sonakshi took to Instagram to share the new release date of the film along with a new poster.

The trailer of the film was unveiled a couple of days ago, which received overwhelming response from the audience. It features Sonakshi Sinha in the role of a sexologist who is trying to educate people about the taboo subject of sex and sex-related issues. She enters the profession after the death of her uncle who wills the sex-clinic to her. But the twist in the tale is that she has to run the clinic for at least six months before she can think of selling it. And here begins this rib-tickling journey of a female sexologist in Punjab. If the trailer of the film is anything to go by, Khandaani Shafakhana will leave the audience in splits upon its release.

Besides Sonakshi Sinha, Khandaani Shafakhana also stars Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Badshah and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in important roles. The film marks the acting debut of popular rapper Badshah. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Khandaani Shafakhana is directed by debutant filmmaker Shilpi Dasgupta.

Though the makers have not revealed the reason behind pushing the film from 26th June to 2nd August, we hear that the decision has been taken to avoid clash with two other movies– Arjun Patiala and Mental Hai Kya – which are scheduled to release on the same date. Interestingly, Arjun Patiala is produced by the same makers as Khandaani Shafakhana.
