The future of work and education in the era of automation

By: Admin Super

Technology is changing the world. We are now able to communicate with each other, even though we are not in the same place. We are able to do specific tasks at a faster pace. We can learn at our own pace whenever we want it, from the comfort of our own homes. Being a digital nomad is a trend that is continuously becoming more and more popular, as it comes with the flexibility to work from whatever place you want.

As a college student, you might dream about becoming one too. Automation and the technology that allows us to do it are widely used across companies and educational institutions from all over the world. Indeed, this was sped by the global pandemic, which showed us that everything is possible. So, what is the future of automation? How is automation in education unfolding? How are automation and the future of work intertwined?

Automation in Education

Education is an essential sector that contributes to the development of every nation. Educated individuals have a higher level of well-being, but they also contribute to the improvement of the country. They can work on research and development, on discovering and inventing new tools, some of which are crucial in domains such as healthcare or finance. Automation education, even though it may seem a rather new field, began its development a couple of years ago. Teachers use automation when it comes to replying to students’ questions or grading their papers. There is the case of one teacher who used artificial intelligence to answer students’ questions they send via email. Only one student noticed that the professor’s assistant might not be a real human, only because it answered the questions really fast.

Getting an education, however, is challenging and it comes with many obstacles. Many students get help from professional writers who write papers for money successfully. This way, they can study the topics better and expand their knowledge, and their skills too. At the same time, technology helps teachers and educational institutions to deliver a personalized learning experience. Which, in turn, improves students’ performance. They get better access to learning materials, but they also have the chance to get an excellent learning experience that minimizes the racial and gender gap that still exists in education.

Automation in Work

Since technology has delivered some really helpful tools, a lot of studies have been conducted on the future of work. And a trend has been observed. More and more jobs disappeared, as machines got better at doing them. For example, there are not so many workers in factories anymore, as their jobs have been replaced by machines. Even though some jobs disappear, technological tools contribute to others being done better.

Most of the tools that are used nowadays actually help people do their jobs better. For example, there are HRs who use recruiting tools, as they can scan and select the resumes of the candidates they were looking for. Jobs are indeed changed by technological progress. If we take a look at what happened during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, we can easily notice there has been a drastic change. People started working from home, but only because technology allowed them to.

As people can now communicate with each other freely, without being in the same place, jobs are easily done. This is why there are more and more digital nomads. They can travel around the world and work at the same time, as they only need a computer and a good internet connection. However, while some jobs will disappear completely and others will be improved due to technology, a lot more will be created due to technology. There is an increasing need for software developers, engineers, and many others which offer new career options to students.

Final Thoughts

Technology is changing the world at a fast pace. And it is present in every domain of our lives, making them easier. It makes it more facile to communicate with people that are on the other side of the world. It makes it easier to work from home. But it also makes it more facile to study from a distance. Automation is present in education and work.

In education, it helps educators deliver a personalized learning experience that improves students’ performance. In work, it contributes to the disappearance of some jobs, but the creation of new ones. So, while it comes with a negative effect on some jobs, it has a positive effect on the career options students have nowadays.
