After the critical and commercial success of her last few films like Pink and Naam Shabana, Taapsee Pannu has emerged as one of the most sought-after female faces in Hindi films. What works more in the favour of the actress is the fact that she can pull off any role with unmatched conviction.
The latest we hear that the actress has been finalized for a role opposite singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh. Though the project is still untitled, it is said to be based on the life of noted hockey player and ex- Indian hockey team captain, Sandeep Singh and the woman who inspired him to achieve his goals. The film will not be a biopic though.
As per a source, “It’s a beautifully woven love story about two ace hockey players, where the woman helps the man achieve his dream and go on to lead the country. It’s a romantic journey of loss and love, dreams and hope.”
Taapsee, who is currently busy with the promotions of her next release, Judwaa 2, will also play the role of a hockey player. She will soon start preparing with Diljit. Both actors will undergo extensive training in hockey as part of their preparations for the film.
The film will mark filmmaker Shaad Ali’s return to direction after Ok Jaanu. It will be bankrolled by Chitrangada Singh and Sneha Rajani.
