T-Series and Hotstar join hands for a musical web-show?

Months after announcing its foray into the digital world, T-Series, which prides on being one of the leading music publishing companies in the world, has joined forces with popular OTT platform Hotstar to produce a musical web-series, according to reports. An entertainment portal reports that things are at an initial stage and nothing is finalised yet.

Besides Hotstar, T-Series is also working with other leading OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and ZEE5 for digital distribution of their home productions. Apart from web-shows, the banner is also planning to produce films for digital consumption. However, it is yet to announce any such project.

T-Series has, meanwhile, emerged as the No. 1 channel on YouTube, defeating the Swedish YouTuber PewDiPie by a huge margin. It recently became the first YouTube channel to reach 100 million subscribers.

On the occasion, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar said, “We are extremely excited and humbled to have brought T-Series to this pinnacle and be bestowed a prestigious global benchmark of achievement and excellence such as the Guinness World Records. It is the collective effort of my team that has helped us reach this milestone. Now that it has actually happened, we only consider this a new beginning to go further and higher and capture new frontiers. I would like to thank each and everyone who supported us during this journey and helped me realise my father’s dream.”

Apart from music, T-Series is also busy consolidating its position in film production. In the first half of 2019, the banner has delivered some of the biggest hits. The second half of the year also looks equally promising for it with films like Khandaani Shafakhana, Batla House, Pati Patni Aur Woh, etc., slated for release.
