South sensation Vijay Deverakonda to work with Ranveer Singh

Buzz has it that South sensation Vijay Deverakonda, who rose to stardom after the thunderous success of his Telugu-language drama film Arjun Reddy (2017), is gearing up to set his foot in Bollywood.

According to reports, filmmaker Kabir Khan has signed the young heartthrob to play an important role in his upcoming directorial venture 83. If reports turn out to be true, Deverakonda will share the screen space with Bollywood’s handsome hunk Ranveer Kapoor who plays the lead role in the much-awaited flick.


83, which was announced in 2017, is a sports film chronicling India's stunning win in 1983 Cricket World Cup against West Indies in England’s Lords Stadium.

Ranveer Singh plays the winning team’s captain Kapil Dev in the movie, while Vijay Deverakonda will essay the role of Krishnamachari Srikkanth.

Earlier scheduled to release on August 30, 2019, 83 will now hit the silver screen on April 10, 2020. The film goes on floors next year.

Stranger Things’ final season breaks records on debut

Netflix’s flagship sci-fi series returns with a record-setting launch. The fifth season of Stranger Things reaches 59.6 million views in its first five days, giving the platform its strongest opening for an English-language series and the third-biggest debut overall, behind the second and third seasons of Squid Game.

This marks a major rise from the fourth season, which opened in 2022 with 287 million hours watched. Under Netflix’s updated “views” metric, that figure translates to around 22 million views. The latest season therefore, posts a 171% increase, though this year’s total covers five days of viewing compared with three for season four.
