Ranveer Singh’s 83 moves to April, 10, 2020

Ranveer Singh’s forthcoming film 83, which was announced in 2017 with much fanfare, has been shifted from August 30, 2019, to April, 10, 2020.

This is not the first time when the release date of the much-anticipated movie has been changed. When the project was announced, the makers had locked April 5, 2019, for release. However, soon the date was deferred to August 30, 2019. This is the third time when the makers have booked a new release date.

Helmed by hit filmmaker Kabir Khan, whose credits include blockbusters such as Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), 83 chronicles India's 1983 World Cup victory in the game of Cricket.

Ranveer plays the role of Kapil Dev in the film. Talking about the movie, the Padmaavat (2018) star had earlier said that it’s one of the greatest sports stories about how a bunch of underdogs who were banded together were galvanised by their leader and thus, they won the World Cup for the country.

Versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui might join the cast to play the role of the coach in the film. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of this year.
