Lara Dutta on not being seen on screen more often

Lara Dutta is currently busy receiving praises for her digital debut with Hotstar Specials’ latest webseries Hundred. Also starring Marathi actress Rinku Rajguru, the series has received positive response from the viewers.

Dutta, who portrays the role of a tough, no-nonsense cop ACP Saumya Shukla, is seen in a project after a long time. When asked why her fans do not see her in many films, the actress shares, "For me, I was looking for doing something more than what I was doing. Plus, when (daughter) Saira was born, being with her through her early years was my priority. (Husband) Mahesh (Bhupathi) and I were clear that between both of us, one parent will always be with Saira full-time. So, my choices of roles became hugely judged on that parameter. It had to be worth leaving Saira and going to work.”

The actress goes on to add, "I was also seeking a metamorphosis in the kind of women characters being written and offered to me. It has to make a difference or add value to lives. In addition, being a producer, an entrepreneur with my skincare line has kept me really busy because even those processes for me are things I am very hands-on about.”

Ask her about her quarantine period and Lara shares, "It has not been so bad as we have been quite busy. Most importantly, we were always supposed to release Hundred in the middle of April. We had been working on the production front as it was really challenging for them to finish considering how everyone is in different locations."

Directed by Ruchi Narain, Ashutosh Shah, Taher Shabbir and Abhishek Dubey, Hundred is streaming on Hotstar Specials.

Brooklyn Beckham told parents to contact him only through lawyers amid family rift

Highlights

  • Brooklyn Beckham requested that David and Victoria Beckham contact him only via lawyers during a period of strained relations
  • Legal letters were exchanged, though no formal action was taken
  • The request followed what Brooklyn viewed as damaging briefings about his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham
  • Both sides are said to be hoping for reconciliation, despite ongoing hurt

A breakdown that moved beyond private disagreement

Relations within the Beckham family deteriorated sharply last summer, reaching a point where Brooklyn Beckham asked his parents to communicate with him only through legal representatives. The request marked one of the most serious moments in an already strained relationship between the eldest Beckham son and his parents.

Sources say the instruction led to an exchange of letters between legal teams at Schillings, representing Brooklyn, and Harbottle & Lewis, who act for David and Victoria Beckham. While no legal proceedings were initiated, the correspondence made clear that Brooklyn did not want direct contact or public references to him from his parents, including on social media.
