Kartik & Jacqueline starrer Kirik Party remake put on backburner

After the riotous success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), Kartik Aaryan was offered a flurry of films. He picked Luka Chuppi and the Hindi remake of Kannada film Kirik Party (2016) from all the choices he had.

To be produced by Ajay Kapoor of Kyta Productions, the Hindi remake also starred Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead. The movie was set to start rolling in October last year, but then reports started coming out that the project has been postponed till December.

It is March 2019 now, but the project is yet to begin production. With this, speculations have been doing the rounds that the project has been put on hold. Some insiders reveal that the makers have put the film on the backburner because Kartik and Jacqueline both are busy with their respective projects.

Kartik, who is riding high on the success of his latest release Luka Chuppi (2019), is preparing for his next film Pati Patni Aur Woh. He is also rumoured to be shooting for renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s next film opposite Sara Ali Khan.

Jacqueline Fernandez, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of her much-delayed film Drive with Sushant Singh Rajput.
