India’s Most Wanted movie review: A taut thriller that surely deserves a watch

In the past couple of years, we have seen many films that have been a tribute to our unsung heroes. From Raazi to RAW these movies were based on true incidents, and now here’s Raj Kumar Gupta’s India’s Most Wanted which is also inspired by true events. While there have been a lot of reports that the movie is inspired by Yasin Bhatkal’s capture, the makers have kept mum about it. However, the movie clearly hints that it is based on Bhatkal’s capture.

So, there have been a lot of bombings happening in India and there’s one man behind it, Yusuf. An IB agent, Prabhat (Arjun Kapoor) comes to know that the man is in Nepal. Along with the four other agents, Prabhat goes on a mission to capture India’s Osama. Will they be successful in it? Well, watch the movie to find out…

India’s Most Wanted is not one of the best thrillers made in the India cinema, but what impresses us is its realistic approach. The actors playing the role of agents look like a common man and not like a Bollywood hero. Even Arjun’s character Prabhat, who is the lead here, looks like the guy next door. The action here is also very realistic and we don’t see men flying when the lead actor hits them.

Gupta has narrated a taut thriller, but the first half is a bit weak here. The movie picks up in the pre-interval portions and then maintains the pace throughout the second half till the climax. What also impresses us is that there’s no forced patriotism in the film. The characters are not shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai, to show their love for their country. There are also a few dialogues that deserve applause. By the way, the cinematography of the film is amazing and many people would feel like visiting Nepal after watching this movie.

Arjun Kapoor has given a decent performance and it is surely something we haven’t seen him doing on the big screen before. Rajesh Sharma leaves a mark with his act. The actors who play the role of Arjun’s team members are also quite good. Sudev Nair, who plays the antagonist in the film doesn’t get much scope, but he acts with his eyes in the film.

Overall, India’s Most Wanted surely deserves a watch for Gupta’s taut narration and Arjun Kapoor’s earnest performance.
