Imtiaz Ali books Valentine’s Day 2020 to release his next with Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan

After a lot of speculations, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has finally confirmed that he is working with rising star Kartik Aaryan and newcomer Sara Ali Khan in his next directorial venture, which still remains untitled.

On Wednesday, the makers announced the official release date of the film. Produced by Jio Studios, Maddock Films, Reliance Entertainment, Window Seat Films, the much-awaited film will hit the marquee on 14th February, 2020.


Kartik Aaryan, who is teaming up with Ali for the first time, wrote on his Twitter handle, "Honoured to embark on a journey with Imtiaz Ali’s next, the yet untitled film with Sara Ali Khan and Randeep Hooda, releasing on 14th Feb, 2020. And yes, the film is already on floors.” The actor also shared a still from the film wherein he can be seen snuggling Sara Ali Khan.

Sharing the same picture, Sara wrote, "Honoured, grateful and uncontrollably excited to be a part of Imtiaz Ali‘s next! Starring Kartik Aaryan and Randeep Hooda, releasing on 14th Feb, 2020. ‪Shoot in progress‼ -Imtiaz Ali"

Though the makers are tight-lipped about the title of the romantic drama, there are rumours that it could be titled Love Aaj Kal 2, a sequel to the Imtiaz Ali-directed 2008 film Love Aaj Kal, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.

Pop star Charli XCX has said she feared her label might drop her over her chart-topping Brat album. Album came out June 2024 and no one expected much. But it blew up and the whole year was basically Brat season. “I actually made this record being like, ‘OK, I’m just going to do this one for me. Maybe I’m going to get dropped by my label and that’s fine’,” she told Paltrow.
