Anil Kapoor returns to Race franchise

Seasoned actor Anil Kapoor played an integral role in Race and Race 2. In fact, it was his character which brought some comic relief to the otherwise highly charged atmosphere of both the films. So, when the news came that Kapoor would not be part of Race 3, many film lovers were really disappointed.

But now, as if sensing the disappointment of fans, the makers of the Race franchise have welcomed the talented actor to be the part of Race 3. Yes, Anil is set to join the ensemble cast of Race 3, which is being touted as the biggest action film of 2018.

Salman Khan, who headlines the cast of Race 3, himself confirmed the news on his social media page. The Dabangg actor took to his Twitter handle and broke the news to the world, captioning, “Inke aane se Race3 ka cast aur ho gaya jhakas @AnilKapoor @RameshTaurani #Race3.”

Directed by Remo D'Souza, Race 3 also features Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. The film is releasing on Eid 2018.

Interestingly, it will clash with Anil Kapoor’s another film, titled Fanne Khan, which is also releasing on Eid next year. Besides Anil, the movie also stars Salman Khan’s ex-flame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

  • Film sets Shakespeare inside a wealthy British South Asian family
  • Directed by Aneil Karia and in cinemas 6 February 2025
  • Cast includes Morfydd Clark, Joe Alwyn, Sheeba Chadha and Art Malik

Riz Ahmed has entered Hamlet in a way British cinema has not quite seen. The new Hamlet trailer has been released by Universal, giving the first proper look at Aneil Karia’s modern take on Shakespeare and placing the story inside a British South Asian business empire. It is due in cinemas on 6 February, and the footage shows a tense, controlled Ahmed moving through grief, suspicion and family power.

The film teams Ahmed and Karia again after The Long Goodbye, which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short. That success informs this production. This is the first time a major UK studio release has grounded Hamlet within a South Asian household for a wide audience.
