Akshay and Parineeti to head off to Jaipur to shoot a romantic song for Kesari

Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, who have teamed up for the very first time for Karan Johar’s production venture Kesari, will be flying to Pink City Jaipur to shoot a romantic song for the forthcoming war-drama film.

The lavishly-mounted romantic song will be shot over a period of four days starting from next week. Choreographer Vijay Ganguli has choreographed the song. With the completion of the song, the entire film will wrap up.

A source close to the development reveals that the team has finalized Jaipur after considering various cities across the country.

“Akshay has been shooting at the helipad at Filmcity, where a set was recreated after the one in Wai was gutted in a fire in April, 10 days before wrap-up. A lavishly-mounted romantic number is still left to be shot and after considering various cities, the team has finalised Jaipur for it. It will be shot over four days next week and will be choreographed by Vijay Ganguly,” the source said.

Kesari, which is based on the famous Battle of Saragarhi of 1897, features superstar Akshay Kumar as Havildar Ishar Singh, while Parineeti Chopra will be seen as his wife. The film is directed by debutant Anurag Singh for Dharma Productions.

It is set to release on 22nd March, 2019.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
