Adivi Sesh starts shooting for the final schedule of Major

Adivi Sesh will next be seen in the film Major which is a based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. It is a Telugu-Hindi bilingual film, and will mark Sesh’s Hindi debut.

The movie was earlier slated to release on 2nd July 2021, but was postponed due to the pandemic. On Thursday (12), the makers started shooting for the final schedule of the movie.


Adivi Sesh took to Twitter to inform his fans about it. He tweeted, “#MajorTheFilm FINAL schedule begins. :) Eager to bring this to you. In theaters only. Only when it’s safe. For ALL audiences from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Our 75th Independence Day is almost here :) A film based on the Life of #MajorSandeepUnnikrishnan #JaiHind.”

While talking about the film nearing its completion, Sesh said, "Major is my passion project, my journey with the film began years ago when I first witnessed the tragic incident in the news. Now as we are inching closer to wrapping the film, I am overwhelmed with mixed emotions. I am extremely grateful to the family of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan for deeming me fit to play the role of their brave son and I hope we succeed in paying a tribute to the inspirational life of our beloved martyr."

Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, Major also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma. The movie is produced by Mahesh Babu under his banned G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and co-produced by Sony Pictures India and A+S Movies.

While the film is being shot in Telugu and Hindi, it will be dubbed and released in Malayalam as well.

A few months ago, the teaser of Major was released. Salman Khan had unveiled the Hindi teaser of the film, Telugu teaser was shared by Mahesh Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran had launched the Malayalam teaser.

The teaser was quite good, and moviegoers are surely excited to watch this biopic.

Filmmaker steps away from YRF’s action franchise

Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has stepped away from Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) highly anticipated action project Dhoom 4, reportedly due to creative differences. According to Bollywood Hungama, Mukerji’s vision for the film did not align with the studio’s direction, prompting him to withdraw from the project.

Mukerji, who was in discussions to direct the next instalment of the hit franchise—expected to star Ranbir Kapoor—was said to have limited control over the script, which was reportedly written by Shridhar Raghavan. The director, best known for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra, was keen on shaping the film creatively rather than simply executing an existing plan.
