Aamir Khan to release Lal Singh Chaddha on Diwali 2020?

After months of wait, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan finally announced his next film on his 54th birthday on 14th March. The actor, who was last seen in Yash Raj Films’ Thugs of Hindostan (2018), will next star in the official remake of Hollywood’s Forrest Gump (1994), titled Lal Singh Chaddha.

While officially announcing the film a few days ago, Khan did not reveal anything about its release date. However, a release date is now being speculated for the big-ticket movie. According to reports, Lal Singh Chaddha may enter theatres on Diwali 2020.

Generally, Aamir releases his films during the festivities of Christmas. But for his last release, Thugs of Hindostan, he chose Diwali after a long gap. Before the Vijay Krishan Acharya directorial, Dharmesh Darshan’s Raja Hinustani (1996) was the last Aamir Khan starrer which released on Diwali.

It looks like Aamir is super confident that the film will be wrapped up on time and hence his team has, reportedly, locked Diwali 2020 for the release. An official announcement is expected though.

Lal Singh Chaddha goes on floors in September. Secret Superstar (2017) fame director Advait Chandan is helming the film which is written by actor-writer Atul Kulkarni.
