Vidya Balan announces the release date of Shakuntala Devi

We all know that Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of Shakuntala Devi in the mathematician's biopic. The shooting of the film kickstarted a few months ago, and the first poster of the film had impressed us a lot. The makers had revealed that the movie will hit the screens in Summer 2020, but now they have officially announced the release date.

Shakuntala Devi will be hitting the screens on 8th May 2020. Vidya took to Instagram to inform her fans about it. She posted, “Get ready to be enamoured by her wit, charm & of course, genius! Watch the video to know when #ShakuntalaDevi is coming to theatres near you! @sanyamalhotra_ @senguptajisshu @theamitsadh @directormenon @sonypicsprodns @abundantiaent @ivikramix @sonypicturesin.”


In the video, Vidya is seen showing off her maths skills to inform about the release date and we must say that it’s quite interesting. Apart from Vidya Balan, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. While the former plays the role of Shakuntala Devi’s daughter, the latter will be seen as her son-in-law.

Well, Shakuntala Devi won’t be getting a solo release and it will clash with two other interesting films like Dil Bechara and The Girl On The Train. Dil Bechara starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi is a remake of Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars and The Girl On The Train starring Parineeti Chopra is also a remake of a Hollywood movie which had the same name.

So, now on 8th May 2020, we have two Hollywood remakes and a biopic slated to hit the screens.
