Varun to take home enormous paychecks after raising his movie fees

Though some may not realize it, Varun Dhawan is the most successful actor from the current crop of heroes in Bollywood. He made his acting debut with Karan Johar's 2012 film Student Of The Year and has starred in 9 movies since then. All the films that the actor has done so far have performed well at the box office.

Over the course of 5 years, Varun has cemented his position as one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood. With most of his films joining the coveted INR 100 Crore Club, the actor has always ensured that his producers laugh all the way to the bank.

2017 saw the release of two Varun Dhawan films - Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2. Both films did exceptionally well at the ticket window and set the cash registers jingling. The latest news about the actor is that he has decided to increase his fees. Reportedly, he has hiked his remuneration by a whopping Rs 5 crore.

“Varun is currently the most commercially viable actors of his generation. None of his peers has his success ratio. He is a successful solo hero, while his contemporaries like Sidharth Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are looking to consolidate their fan base. Ranveer is the closest rival to Varun, and the Bajirao Mastani actor was paid less than his market price for his three films with his mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali,” reveals a source close to the actor.

Generally, Varun used to charge Rs 8 crore per film, but after raising his fees, the actor will now get Rs. 13 per movie. If reports are to be believed, it is Varun's mentor Karan Johar who has suggested him to raise his fees.

The actor will next be seen in Shoojit Sircar's October.
