Indian TV actor Vikas Sethi passes away due to cardiac arrest

INDIAN actor Vikas Sethi, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, and Sasural Simar Ka, passed away on Saturday night in Nashik city.

He was 48. Sethi died in his sleep following a cardiac arrest.


His wife, Jhanvi Sethi, confirmed they were in Nashik for a family event when the actor began experiencing health issues.

"After we reached my mother's house in Nashik, he had vomiting and loose motions. He didn't want to go to the hospital, so we asked the doctor to come home," she told PTI.

Jhanvi shared that when she tried to wake him around 6 am on Sunday morning, she found him unresponsive. "The doctor there told us he passed away last night in his sleep due to cardiac arrest," she said.

Sethi's body has been sent to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for a post-mortem.

Aside from his television work, Sethi appeared in the 2001 blockbuster film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., where he portrayed Robbie, a friend of Poo (Kareena Kapoor Khan).

The last rites are scheduled for Monday in Mumbai. Sethi is survived by his wife and their twin sons.

Rotten Tomatoes scores show that some of his most highly regarded work came when he stepped away from the role of the conventional action hero.
